The Path of Daggers and Winter's Heart Chronology

Below is the Wheel of Time's plot time line for Winter's Heart and The Path of Daggers. I start the timeline off with day 0 being a global event that affects all story lines: the day the Bowl of Winds is used to correct the weather. At first I intended this to only be a Winter's Heart timeline. I wanted to make day 0, the day that the Salidar Aes Sedai declare war on Elaida. However, I found that I had to keep on going farther back in the timeline to accurately place events with other characters. Eventually, I found that the best point for day 0 was the day that the Bowl of Winds was used. This timeline ended up being a complete map of The Path of Daggers and Winter's Heart.

Day 0

• The Bowl of Winds is used by a circle including Nynaeve, Elayne, Aviendha, Sea Folk, and Kin.
• The Seanchan invade Ebou Dar.
• Mat is burried underneath rubble in Ebou Dar.
• Perrin is informed of a web of the One Power that is seen across the sky.

Day 6

• Perrin sends Berelain to Bethal to meet with Queen Alliandre.
• Illian receives its first rain.

Day 7

• Elyas reunites with Perrin.
• Perrin learns of Masema's location (Abila, Amadicia) from Balwer.
• Queen Alliandre of Ghealdan swears fealty to Rand through Perrin.
• Perrin hears the first peal of thunder in the baking sun.
• Illian begins receiving rain storms.

Day 9

• The Salidar Aes Sedai stop the march for prayers and thanksgiving for the drizzle.
• The rain begins in Andor.
• Perrin's army is slowed by rain.

Day 10

• The first snows slow the Salidar Aes Sedai army.
• The first snow storm of the season reaches Andor.
• Merillile begins teaching the Seafolk channelling.
• The first snows slow Perrin's army.

Day 13

• Zarya (Garenia) and Kirstian were discovered as run away's of the White Tower.
• Perrin's Army enter's Ghealdan.

Day 18

• Rand ends his personal involvement in the consolidation of Illian.

Day 19

• The Salidar Aes Sedai learn about the Andoran and Murandian army opposing them.
• The Asha'man from the Black Tower join Rand's forces in Illian.

Day 20

• Egwene convinces the Sitters to declare war on Elaida.
• Narishma arrives with Callandor.
• Rand moves his forces to the Nemarellin Mountains and sends off the Asha'man to begin scouting the Seanchan forces.

Day 22

• Adeleas is found murdered.

Day 24

• Elayne, Nynaeve, Aviendha, the Sea Folk, and Kin arrive in Caemlyn.

Day 25

• The Black Tower begins capturing the Aes Sedai's Black Tower assault party: Gabrelle is bonded to Logain.

Day 26

• The Black Tower finishes capturing the Aes Sedai's assault party: Toveine is bonded to Logain.
• Rand uses Callandor against the Seanchan.

Day 27

• Elayne formerly announces her claim to the Lion Throne.
• Rand appears in Cairhein.

Day 30

• Taim appears for Elayne's summons.
• Elayne and Aviendha perform the Aiel adoption ceremony.

Day 31

• The Sun Palace is attacked by the renegade Asha'man.
• Cadsuane kidnaps Ailil Riatin and Shalon.
• The Seanchan armies smash the Amadician armies and capture all the Amadician nobility at Jeramel. The Whitecloaks somehow slip away.

Day 32

• Elaida decrees that anybody who approaches the Dragon Reborn without the White Tower's consent will be attainted treason.
• Rand picks up the Choedan Kal and lays a false trail (Shara) in Rhuidean.
• Sandomere reports that Taim is giving private lessons to Mishraile.
• Elayne, Birgette and party inspect the Black Tower.

Day 33

• Rand picks up Callandor and leaves a false trail (Chachin) in Tear.

Day 34

• Rand issues some final orders to Dobraine and Idrien in Cairhein, and then leaves to lay more false trails.

Day 36

• The Corenne enters Ebou Dhar.
• Noal Charin saves Mat from the Gholam.
• Mat meets Tuon, The Daughter of the Nine Moons.
• Valan Luca agrees to let Mat travel with his menegerie for a price.
• Aludra sets Mat to figure out the puzzle of the Bellfounder.
• Tylin discovers what Mat looks like in pink ribbons.

Day 37

• Tylin begins stabbing the bedpost.
• The Gholam kills somebody outside of the city.
• Mat burns the pink ribbons and pink clothing that Tylin gives him.
• Setalle Annan agrees to let Mat use some space for storage.
• Mat meets with the bellfounder.
• Tuon begins watching Mat.
• Three seperate large Altaran forces are gathered in northern Altara. It is unclear where their loyalties lie.

Day 38

• Mat meets with Aludra, and the bellfounder.

Day 39

• Elayne and Aviendha roam Caemlyn at night.
• The bellfounder closes his doors to Mat.
• Mat meets with Aludra.

Day 40

• Talene confesses being a darkfriend.
• Sareitha and Elayne tour the city.
• Nynaeve decides to free the damane.
• Nynaeve sends 14 Kin into Seanchan controlled lands to help their numbers escape.
• Elayne hears about Elaida's decree about Rand and the assault on the Sun Palace from Halwin Norry.
• Elayne is drugged.
• Slayer, Temaile, and somebody who does not know Tel'aran'rhoid very well (Rand?) spy on Elayne, Egwene, and Nynaeve in Tel'aran'rhoid.
• Mellar (Daved Hanlon) is promoted to Captain of the Queen's Bodyguard.
• Marillin and Lady Shaine (Mili Skane) meet.

Day 41

• Merillile leaves to investigate the Borderland's armies.
• Careane teaches the Seafolk.
• Faile, Maigdan, Alliandre and companions are kidnapped by Shaido.
• Perrin meets with Masema in Abila.
• Balwer learns of Seanchan victories in Jeramel (Amadicia), and Seanchan defeats in Altara.
• Perrin nearly dies in Tel'aran'rhoid trying to find Faile.

Day 42

• Elayne becomes pregnant with Rand's child.
• Rand is bonded by Min, Aviendha, and Elayne.
• Nynaeve teaches the Seafolk.
• Sareitha Sedai has an important meeting (Marillin Gemaphlin?) in Caemlyn.
• Dobraine frees Lady Caraline and the High Lord Darlin from Lady Arilyn's palace.
• Damer Flinn restores Irgain's ability to channel.
• Alanna passes out for three days.
• Tallavor runs away in search of Maigdan.
• Despite tradition, Faile and her companions find out that their lives are not protected by being made gai'shan.
• Perrin's and Masema's forces travel to make up distance on the Shaido.

Day 43

• Nynaeve, Alivia, Lan, Min and Rand leave for Far Madding.
• Mat agrees to help Joline, Teslyn, and Edesina escape Ebou Dar.
• A Seeker tells Bethamin to befried Egeanin.
• Bethamin meets Egeanin in her rooms.
• The Gholam kills a third victim near the Moldine Gate.

Day 44

• Elayne and Egwene inspect the Two Rivers in Tel'aran'rhoid.
• Tylin and Suroth leave Ebou Dar to tour Altara; Mat thinks she will return in ten days.
• Mat asks Juilin to steal some a'dam, and sul'dam dresses.
• A fourth bloodsucking murder in Ebou Dar.

Day 45

• Rand kills Rochaid.
• Padan Fain kills Kisman.
• Slayer attempts to kill Nynaeve and Lan (is the mysterious benefactor Sammael?).
• A fifth bloodsucking murder in Ebou Dar.

Day 46

• A sixth bloodsucking murder in Ebou Dar.

Day 47

• Cadsuane enters Far Madding with a party of Aes Sedai, Warders, and Sea Folk.
• A seventh bloodsucking murder in Ebou Dar.

Day 48

• Salidar Aes Sedai travel to Tar Valon.
• Elayne makes agreement with Borderland Army.
• Cadsuane and Alanna visit Rand and Min.
• Alanna Travels to Cairhein.
• A eighth bloodsucking murder in Ebou Dar.

Day 49

• Alanna takes Rafela, Merana, Bera, and Kiruna to negotiate with the rebels in Haddon Mirk.
• The Gholam kills again (atleast the ninth harvest).

Day 50

• The Gholam kills again (tenth), and the Seekers are ordered (by Tuon?) to find the killer if they have to stop eating and sleeping to do it.

Day 51

• Juilin steals the a'dam and the sul'dam dresses.
• Mat tries the a'dam on Joline.
• Egeanin and Mat agree to leave Ebou Dar together.
• Ebou Dar is in an uproar over the bloodsucking murders.

Day 52

• Nynaeve, Cadsuane, Alivia, and Min go outside of Far Madding. Cadsuane gives channelling lessons.
• Nynaeve uses her well in Far Madding which alerts the guards.
• Rand falls into Padan Fain's trap.
• Rand and Lan end up in the prisons of Far Madding.
• Toram Riatin, Torval, and Gedwyn are killed.
• Rand and Lan are released into Cadsuane's custody by the Far Madding Councel.
• Mat plans to leave Ebou Dar with three Aes Sedai, three sul'dam, Egeanin, Bayle Domon, and companions.
• Mat frees Nestelle din Sakura South Star. She has agreed to free the rest of the Windfinders in three hours later.
• Suroth and Tylin return early from their tour of Altara because an army has disappeared in Murandy.
• Mat binds and gags Tylin under the bed.
• Mat learns that Tuon is the daughter of the Nine Moons and he decided to take her with him.

Day 53

• Rand, Cadsuane, and party left Far Madding with papers saying that their stay will be removed from the records, and that their belongings will not be searched.
• Rand and Nynaeve form a ring using the Choedan Kal and cleanse Saidin.
• Cadsuane with some of the Aes Sedai sworn to Rand, Alivia, Shalon, and Asha'man hold off a combined assault from the Forsaken.
• Shadar Logoth is flattened.
• Osan'gar (Cadsuane's renegade - Dashiva) is killed by Elza (chapter 32).
• The female access key for the Choedan Kal melts.
• Cadsuane secures Callandor, and the male access key for the Choedan Kal.
• Rand and Nynaeve have passed out.

Day 54

• The latest four armies approaching Caemlyn will arrive.
